During its boom years from 1905 to 1910, Goldfield was far more than a mining camp—it was the largest and most vibrant city in Nevada. The town offered all the sophistication and excitement of a major metropolis: elegant hotels, fine restaurants, athletic clubs, theaters, and bustling shops lined its busy streets.

Churches and social organizations thrived, unions and sporting events brought the community together, and nightlife flourished in casinos and the lively red-light district.
